Mohammad (Mamad) Kashani- Akhavan
Born in 1963 in Iran. He was trained to be successful in business from the age of 3 with probably the best teacher in the world, his dad. His father Hamid Kashani- Akhavan came from a successful entrepreneurial family and was the pioneer of the first chain of department sores in the Middle East. He opened his first 10 storey department store in Tehran in 1966. By 1979 before the Iranian Revolution, Mamad’s family owned various businesses including manufacturing, retailing and development employing many thousands of people.
At 15, Mamad began studying in the UK and achieved the highest ever recorded score for his school’s internal examinations. He furthered his education by studying Accountancy. In 1981, aged 18 and still a full time student,Mamad started a small real estate agency from his bedroom with just £100. He began by selling and letting properties owned by family and friends. In 1984, he managed to a sell Knightsbridge house that has been on the market for two years for a record £1million.
These impressive early successes gave Mamad the connections and the confidence he needed to build a highly successful career in the property industry. He has acted as consultant and acquired UK properties for many large investors including Members of the Middle East Royal families.
Mamad established Goldline Finance LTD in 1994 .Goldline acted as operating and managing company for many hotels. These include a large Hotel on Southampton Row- Central London. Goldline refurbished and modernise this hotel to a four star and increased profit from £50,000 to £3m. Goldline also purchased a loss making hotel in Eastbourne.This hotel was refurbished and modernised and achieved a 4 star status -profit was increased to £1m .
In Dubai Goldline developed a 40 storey 5 star hotel and serviced apartments . This is now one of the most profitable and successful hotel in Dubai.
Mamad is also an accomplished writer. His unique style of open letter writing – based largely on his 31 years of experience in the property industry – has many followers. He has frequently published his letters in the Times, Financial Times, Estate Gazette, Property Week, Central Government and Gulf News. His opinion has been quoted by many publications and we based forums. He has also been interviewed regarding his views by the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Sky News, BBC News and many others.
